About Passive Value Investor

Hello, and welcome to our community at Passive Value Investor, a free resource I’ve created to share my experiences of turning hard-earned money into a passive and steady stream of extra (and sometimes on-going residual) income.

I accomplish this through strategies I apply in two ways: through the choices I make in my own personal finance activity, and through real estate ventures I participate in, always using solid principles, systems, and practices. Here, I share my experiences and suggestions, hoping to enrich you in the process. Maybe you have questions about entering the residential or revenue real estate markets. Perhaps you’re looking to simply grow your bank account in more diverse and creative ways. Whether you have your own success stories to share, or simply want to sit back and read, absorbing new tips and tricks from myself and others, which you can then benefit from, PassiveValueInvestor.com has what you’re looking for to help grow your wealth.

Who am I? And why should you take my advice?

I’m Chris, just a regular guy with a 9 to 5 job, who wanted to get out of the perennial rat race. I didn’t like the feeling of relying solely on my salary to support me – I wanted to feel like I had some control over my financial destiny. At the beginning of 2000, I was introduced to the stock market, and like many before me, I was convinced I could ‘beat’ it and become a millionaire in no time…

Well, that didn’t happen; no surprise there! However, that chapter did reroute me to the much more lucrative philosophy of “a slow and steady path”, and that new philosophy taught me true appreciation for money. That was indeed a turning point because having a real appreciation for money caused me to be much wiser with my choices.

I continued to invest my money in strategic ways, most of the time with the help of a financial planner (which is a practice I fully endorse). In 2007, when I was introduced to the world of real estate investing, I quickly discovered that a well-balanced portfolio in both sectors (real estate and the stock market) could better help to weather any storm.

Today, from strong and reliable practices which I freely share with you here at Passive Value Investor, I enjoy a healthy stream of extra income which complements my salary. I live in a mortgage-free home (I’m under 40), and, perhaps the most valuable component of all is the freedom to say “I work because I enjoy it, and not because I have to in order to make ends meet”.

Why am I sharing my experiences of my financial gain publicly like this?

Growing money and helping others are both passions of mine, and I’ve often tried to offer up my knowledge in group settings before, whether with friends or family. I’ve learned though, that it’s pretty tough for them to open up publicly about their personal finances, and the odd time they did, they did so not really wanting to hear any financial advice. They demonstrated the usual slice of negativity that many people experience when they don’t know of a better way. Well, I wanted to offer positivity because I’ve had positive results!  So launching Passive Value Investor is another avenue I take to share the things I’ve learned over the years which have been financially fruitful for me, and could be for you too.

Sometimes, we all just need a bit of guidance or a new insight to see things in a different light. A little information can go a long way. I want to share some information that has been financially favorable for me.

More than that, Passive Value Investor is also a community to share experiences, ideas, tips and tricks, and do’s and don’ts between one another. Let’s all benefit from the collective wisdom of each other’s positive financial investment decisions.
